This Privacy Policy explains how personal data is processed when you visit www.seeingwithouteyes.com (the "Website"), contact us or subscribe to our newsletter. It applies to the Website only. Our online course at learnmatrixvision.com is operated on a separate platform with its own privacy policy.

2. Legal bases
Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the UK GDPR applies, we process personal data on the following legal bases:
- your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you may withdraw at any time with effect for the future;
- the performance of a contract with you or steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR);
- compliance with a legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR);
- our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), in particular the secure and efficient operation of the Website, protection against abuse and spam, and answering enquiries.
Storing information on your device or accessing information already stored there is done only with your consent, unless it is strictly necessary to provide the service you have requested (Art. 5(3) ePrivacy Directive and its national implementations, such as § 25 TDDDG in Germany).
3. Hosting and server log files
The Website is hosted by Namecheap, Inc., Phoenix, Arizona, USA. Each time you access the Website, the server automatically records technical data: IP address, date and time of access, requested page or file, referrer URL, browser type and version, operating system and the amount of data transferred. We use this data to deliver the Website, to ensure its stability and security and to investigate misuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log files are deleted after no more than 30 days, unless a specific incident requires longer retention for evidence purposes. Namecheap processes this data as our processor under a data processing agreement. As Namecheap is based in the USA, the transfer is based on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
4. Contact and registration forms, email
When you contact us through a contact form, register for an event or email us, we process the information you provide (such as name, email address, phone number, your message and, for registrations, the selected event and your location) to answer your enquiry or process your registration. Our forms are transmitted via Formspark (submit-form.com) and protected against automated spam by Botpoison. Both services process your submission and technical data such as your IP address on our behalf. The legal basis is the performance of pre-contractual measures (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) or, for general enquiries, our legitimate interest in answering them (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We delete your enquiry once it has been dealt with and registration data once the event and its accounting are completed, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
5. Newsletter (CleverReach)
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we process your email address to send you updates about MatrixVision® programs, courses and events. We use the double opt-in procedure: your subscription becomes active only after you confirm it via the link in our confirmation email. We log the time of subscription and confirmation and your IP address to be able to prove your consent. The newsletter is sent via CleverReach, a service of CleverReach GmbH & Co. KG, Rastede, Germany, which acts as our processor. CleverReach can record whether a newsletter was opened and which links were clicked. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every newsletter or by email to us. After you unsubscribe, we keep your email address in a block list only as long as necessary to prevent further mailings and to prove the earlier consent.
6. Videos
Videos on the Website are streamed through our video hosting and streaming service (euvideocdn.com). When you play a video, the service processes your IP address and technical playback data to deliver the stream to you. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in presenting our content (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Some pages link to videos on YouTube, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Dublin, Ireland. Data is transmitted to Google only when you click such a link and open the video on YouTube; Google's privacy policy applies there.
7. Content delivery networks
To display the Website correctly and quickly, we load program libraries from external servers: jQuery from Google Hosted Libraries (ajax.googleapis.com, Google Ireland Limited) and the Botpoison browser script from unpkg.com. When these files are loaded, your browser transmits your IP address to the respective provider. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure and functional website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
8. Links to other websites and social media
The Website contains links to our online course at learnmatrixvision.com and to our profiles on YouTube and TikTok. These are plain links. Data is transmitted to the respective provider only when you click a link and visit that website. The privacy policy of the respective provider applies there.
9. Recipients and international transfers
We share personal data only with the service providers named in this Privacy Policy, where required by law, or where you have consented. MatrixVision LLC is based in the United States. Where we or our service providers process personal data from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland in a country without an adequacy decision, we rely on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or, where the recipient is certified, on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
10. Retention
We store personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described above or as required by statutory retention periods. Specific periods are stated in the relevant sections.
11. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access your personal data (Art. 15 GDPR);
- rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR);
- erasure (Art. 17 GDPR);
- restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR);
- data portability (Art. 20 GDPR);
- withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR);
- lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the country of your habitual residence or place of work (Art. 77 GDPR).
Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR): Where we process your data on the basis of our legitimate interests, you may object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. You may object to the use of your data for direct marketing at any time without giving reasons.
To exercise your rights, please email [email protected].
12. No automated decision-making
We do not use automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.
13. Security
The Website is delivered via an encrypted connection (HTTPS). We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
14. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We update this Privacy Policy when the Website or the services we use change. The version published on the Website applies.
