Practice Seeing Without Eyes Yourself
You can begin exploring Alternative Vision at home today. These simple preparation exercises help you build the calm focus the training is based on.
What you need
- A quiet room and 15 to 20 minutes
- A light-tight blindfold (sleep masks often let light in at the nose)
- A few sheets of coloured paper in clearly different colours
Exercise 1: Calm focus (5 minutes)
Sit comfortably, close your eyes and breathe slowly through your nose. Count ten breaths, then let your attention rest on the space in front of your forehead. Notice any impressions of light or darkness without judging them.
Exercise 2: Light and dark (5 minutes)
Put on the blindfold and slowly turn towards a window or lamp and away again. Notice whether you can sense differences. Keep a relaxed, curious attitude.
Exercise 3: Colour impressions (5 to 10 minutes)
Place one coloured sheet in front of you with the blindfold on. Hold your hands above it and notice any impression, whether temperature, a feeling or an inner image. Then check and note the result. Change colours and repeat.
Tips
- Practise daily, even briefly. Regularity matters more than duration.
- Stay honest: check whether light gets through the blindfold.
- Expect nothing and notice everything. Pressure blocks perception.
